Hi, my name is Ema Mortimer, I am a birth and postnatal Doula based in North London. I am married with three children, Ellis born January 1995, Rae born February 1998 and Ezra born July 2003.

All my births have been varied and special and all born naturally. My first two in hospital and my third at home! I have always been drawn to caring professions, working in nurseries, nursing homes, play schemes and more recently key working young asylum seekers.

My passion for women, birth and babies began very early on, and when I fell pregnant with my first child my journey really began. In 2002 I was privileged to be asked to be present at the birth of my best friend's third baby and that was it…….. the fire was lit.

Since then I have been present at births and helping out post birth, regularly. It was a delight to be trained by Michel Odent and Liliana Lammers in June 2006 and to begin my journey as a Doula with Doula UK.
